  1. What purpose do the donations serve?
    The following are some examples of how your donation will be used to help people build their families:
    - Attorney fees
    - Travel fees
    - Lab fees
    - Medication not covered by insurance
    - Home study for adoption
  2. How do I make a donation?
    You can click on the link at the top of the page that says “donations.”
    You can pay by credit card with PayPal (you do not need a paypal account to do this).

    1. When are you planning on accepting grant applications?

    5. Who can apply?
      Anyone, as long as you are a U.S. Citizen residing in the U.S. You must be able to demonstrate that you can provide a stable home environment for the child while demonstrating that you are facing significant financial obstacles and need financial assistance with your adoption expenses.

    7. Can we/I apply if we already have children?
      Yes, but the committee will take into consideration current family size.

    9. How do we/I receive the grant if we are awarded one?
      Grant money is dispensed directly to your service provider only when the service has been provided.

    11. How do you make your grant recipient decisions?
      Qualified and complete applications received by our submission deadline will be presented to our board. The board will review the applications as well as discuss them and make a final decision. All sections of the application will be taken into consideration. Priority will be given to applications who meet the following objective criteria: 

      • Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S.
      • Must have a letter provided by your physician explaining your diagnoses and pending procedure
      • Must provide proof that procedure is not covered by medical insurance
      • Must demonstrate that while you can provide a stable environment for a child, you are facing significant financial obstacles and need financial assistance with your expenses.

    13. How does the submission and review process work?
      Every section, in addition to the supplemental documentation, must be completed and returned to us by the deadlines specified on the application.  The grant selection committee will meet and review the completed applications. They will then make their decisions based on all of the information provided and on the funds available at that point in time.

    15. What if I have already received a grant from another organization?You must explain all the specifics.
    16. Is there a way I can help raise money for Parenthood for Me’s endowment?
      Yes. With the support of PFM you can organize a fundraiser in your area. Some examples are: bake sale, yard sale, car wash, bottle/can drive. For more information email: info@parenthoodforme.org

You must already have an approved home study determining that you are ready and able to adopt a child.

      No, our grants are to be used for your choice of adoption process: private or agency, domestic or international

      • Must distinguish the difference between not wanting to write the check(s) for your adoption expenses and inability to afford the expenses.
      • Must demonstrate willingness to proceed with your adoption plans with or without our assistance.
